Wheatus at the Scala

I fell in love with "Teenage Dirtbag" the first time I heard it watching MTV while putting in training miles on the treadmill. Grant let me borrow the song and even after dozens of plays I still wasn't tired of it, but I wasn't inclined to buy the CD. Surely this was a group strictly for teens. Wheatus surprised me in July at the Potty in the Pock (see earlier post) with two or three more songs that I liked nearly as well as Dirtbag. So the CD was purchased. All the songs are easy to listen to and catchy. I figured the show at the Scala would be entertaining, even if a bit too teeny-bop-y. But these guys rocked my sock off! Especially the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter Brendan. Lots of music, lots of energy, excellent guitar playing and they all looked like they loved performing. AND they did an AC/DC cover. Couldn't ask for a better Wednesday night.
