King Crab Legsand Lawrence of Arabia. I didn't stay up to see in the new year, but had a great evening of fine dining and fine film.Tried to get in to see the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit but it was sold out. Instead went to Double Take at the EMP. Afterward, went on a fabulous boat ride on Lake Union. |

Oysters are...yummy! I like them. Whodathunk? After cycling class, David and I took the Great Little Car to the Olympic Peninsula for SnowShoeing - Take 2. We caught a 9:20am Edmonds ferry to Kingston. We hiked along the Dosewallips Road toward the Ranger Station hoping for some deep snow. By 2:00 we had reached the waterfall destination but weren’t in enough snow to warrant our snowshoes. David had packed us a lunch of BLT fixin’s and a delicious bottle of white wine. We headed back down the logging road, hopped in the Mini and arrived at Seal Rock just in time to view a spectacular sunset. The tide was low enough to walk out on the rocky beach and gather some fresh oysters for dinner. David showed me how to pick out and shuck good ones. I watched and held the bowl. The light was fading fast and it was cold. Back at P Square David whisked up a batter and pan fried the nasty little things which turned out to be quite delicious. We ate them with fresh squeezed lemon and a nice green salad while watching The Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart. |
Hurricane Ridge Snowshoeingdidn't quite work out as planned. The road to Hurricane Rigde was closed. The Ranger we came across was no help. Starbucks crew recommended Dungeoness, so we went but there was a rock slide that the Mini just couldn't hop. We backed down the hill and watched the Seahawks game at the casino. |
